Theatre Bristol Catherine DeCaterina School of Theatre Arts Fall Classes Start in August
Registration is now open for the Theatre Bristol Catherine DeCaterina School of Theatre Arts fall classes held at Theatre Bristol, 512 State Street, Bristol, TN. The Catherine DeCaterina School of Theatre Arts is open to all ages and experience levels seeking to improve their theatre skills, build confidence, and prepare for upcoming productions. Creative Dramatics is on Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 PM from August 26 through October 14: 5-6 year olds spark a love for being onstage in Creative Dramatics. Topics include theatre games, improv, practicing being something you’re not, audition practice, and more. The class will help develop confidence, knowledge, discipline, and imagination! Participants also have fun and make friends who enjoy the theatre arts!
Acting 1 is on Tuesdays, 4:30-5:30 PM, from August 28 through October 16: Ages 7-8 learn terminology, theatrical movement, characterization, basic acting techniques, memorization techniques, and lay a foundation for scene work. This is an excellent course for students interested in starting to understand the acting craft. The class will help develop confidence, knowledge, discipline, and imagination! While students will work hard, they will also spend lots of time playing theatre games and having fun with peers. This course is a prerequisite for Acting 2.
Theatre Bristol is pleased to present classes and workshops as part of its family-friendly 60th season of ARTspace and Paramount shows. Founded in 1965 by Cathy DeCaterina, Theatre Bristol is a community theatre serving all ages that also has the distinction as the oldest continually running children’s theatre in northeast Tennessee. Located on historic State Street in Bristol, it equally serves southwest Virginia. Its Main Stage season consists of drama, comedy, and musical productions that take place in the Theatre Bristol ARTspace black box theatre, the newly-acquired Cameo Theatre, and on the Paramount Bristol stage.
