Theatre Bristol Announces March 29-30 Auditions for Charlie & The Chocolate Factory coming in July to Paramount Bristol
Roles for men, women, and youth in this magical musical production; free audition workshop on March 23
Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia, February 2025 – Theatre Bristol announces auditions for Charlie & The Chocolate Factory on March 29 and 30 at 512 State Street, Bristol, TN. Auditions are open and roles are available for men, women, teens, and children. Important information about auditions, roles, the rehearsal schedule and other details, the audition form are at theatrebristol.org/audition. A free audition workshop will also be held on March 23 at 2:30 pm and is highly encouraged for anyone new to theatre.
In March, the search is on for “The Candy Man” himself, Willy Wonka, as well as Charlie Buckett, his devoted mother and bed full of grandparents including Grandpa Joe, and “lucky” children, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, Mike Teavee, and Augustus Gloop, and their respective parents, as well as Mrs. Green, Jerry and Cherry, along with some nutty workers, and of course, Oompa-Loompas!
The beloved surreal musical that has transcended generations from lucky children to grandparents both on and off stage, Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is an enchanting and unconventional lesson-filled experience. Those who’ve “Got a Golden Ticket” will be transported to a dazzling world of “Pure Imagination” at Paramount Bristol in July.
Award-winning composers Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley’s original songs from the motion picture are the cornerstone of this stage production with book and score of Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel by David Greig, Marc Shaiman, and Scott Wittman.
Directing and choreographing the classic favorite is Theatre Bristol veteran director, Camille Gray, director of Scrooge! The Musical, The Diary of Anne Frank, Twelfth Night, Julius Caesar, and Godspell, and choreographer for Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Oklahoma!, Into the Woods, and The Wizard of Oz.
Charlie & The Chocolate Factory opens July 18, and runs for two weekends at Paramount Bristol.
