Love runs deep in Theatre Bristol’s 57th Season! From new romance to love for family, community, country, and society, the season is full of laughs and heart-warming moments for the whole family, as well as thought-provoking and important reflection and connection.
The season kicks off with “Twelfth Night,” Shakespeare’s romantic comedy presented by the Youth Service Board. Celebrate Valentine’s with us February 11-13.
Theatre Bristol’s fourth River’s Way collaboration follows March 5 and 6 in the ARTspace, with “Real Heroes” written and directed by Dottie Havlik and performed by differently-abled young people and Theatre Bristol veterans.
Weekends April 1-10, “Jack and the Beanstalk” directed by Cindi Brooks comes to the ARTspace stage. Auditions were held in 2020, however, opportunities may be available for additional roles or crew. Follow our page for any updates.
One of the most popular musicals of all time, “The Sound of Music,” directed by Glenn Patterson comes to the Paramount Center for the Arts, weekends June 17-26. Theatre Bristol’s annual The Start of Adventure summer camp for kindergarten through eighth grade runs July 11-15. Registration will be announced at www.TheatreBristol.org.
The Youth Service Board presents its annual production July 22, 23, and 24, with the title to be announced!
The classic “To Kill A Mockingbird,” directed by Camille Gray, takes the ARTspace stage weekends August 26-28 and September 2-4. Auditions for men, women, and children are July 9, 10, and 11. The holiday movie favorite “elf The Musical” comes to the Paramount Bristol stage under the direction of Kenn Naegele weekends November 11-20, and the ARTspace stage weekends December 2-18. Auditions for men, women, and children for both productions are September 3, 4, 5, and 6. Rehearsals begin September 12. Haley White, designer of the Theatre Bristol 2020/2021 Season poster, is a local graphic designer who specializes in logo design, social media content, illustration, photography and hand lettering, and recently joined King University’s communications department. Those interested in being a part of the wonderful experience of live performance by bringing it to life over several weeks and working backstage as part of the production team and stage crew are welcome to come to any of the audition dates and discuss their interest and skill. This invitation includes those interested in orchestra, costuming, set design and construction, lighting, sound, stage management, props, publicity, and many other roles. Interested individuals can also email info@theatrebristol.org. All roles are volunteer, as there is no paid staff. No experience is necessary for crew work, though welcome.

“elf The Musical” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI), “To Kill a Mockingbird” is presented through Dramatic Publishing, and “The Sound of Music” with special arrangement by Rogers and Hammerstein. All authorized performance materials are also provided by MTI, R&H, and Dramatic Publishing.
Founded in 1965 by Cathy DeCaterina, Theatre Bristol is the oldest continually running children’s theatre in northeast Tennessee. Its Main Stage season consists of up to five productions. Some of its performances take place in the ARTspace, a multi-purpose, black box theatre which seats up to 120, and others at the Paramount Center for the Arts. Theatre Bristol is a volunteer-operated organization and we invite you to get involved.
